Spaceflight Simulator video game is now available on Steam. It is an indie sim game developed and published by Moroyna Limited. Idea behind game is for players to come up with their own missions, from start to finish. The game currently includes our own solar system and goal is to launch a rocket, fly it through space, land it on and crash it on Mars.

Graphics are not realistic but are still good for a game that is still in early access. Being an early access title, I’m not sure what to expect from graphics. Unfortunately, it seems as though developers of this title haven’t completely finished graphics. With a simple Spaceflight Simulator download for PC, almost cartoon-like aesthetic, I was expecting more from graphics. I did, however, love simplicity of rocket assembly. Graphics are simplistic and almost cartoon-like. Space has no stars, galaxies or systems in background. Software seems to lack surface conditions like atmosphere on Venus. This is all understandable, as Spaceflight Simulator free download for PC is still in early access. However I do hope that developers take note of these shortcomings and tackle them in future.

Gameplay is easy to learn and manage. Only difficult thing is understanding some of aspects of rocket science especially when it comes to assembly and flight. As with graphics, early access means there’s plenty of time to make gameplay improvements. Tutorials, while they do a good job of explaining basics, do lack a little in providing more advanced features. Gameplay install Spaceflight Simulator is where this simulator really shines through. It’s actually a little bit difficult to describe, because it’s a personal experience. Players are able to come up with own missions and then take them through from start to finish. This means that you can choose to launch a rocket, then land it on Mars or crash it. It’s up to you.

Multiplayer is not yet available in this title, however, I’m really interested to see how it will work when it is. While controller support is good, there’s no on-screen button prompts. Context-sensitive camera buttons are a little awkward to use. As with other simulators, there are a few key controls to remember: left mouse button is used to dock, right mouse button is used to fire. This app includes an autopilot, which is very useful at start of your career.

Once game is released and all of planets have surface conditions, there will be more ground to cover in terms of missions. It would be good to see some variety of rocket parts. As it stands, they are all same. With no real-world rockets and no crew to take into account, this creates a very linear gameplay. There are some missing features that I hope to see in future such as surface conditions on planets and crew.

While graphics and gameplay do need a little work in my opinion, replayability is low, it has potential to be a great game in future. It’s visually pleasing enough, controls are good. Lack of crew and planetary surface conditions is a little disappointing. But once again, it’s early access so there’s plenty of time left for changes and new features to be added.
